ABOUT Stuti Laha

Stuti Laha (b. 1970) is an acclaimed Indian artist specializing in Indian painting, particularly the Bengal School’s distinctive wash painting technique. Graduating with a first-class degree and numerous accolades from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, in 1992, she has established a unique style that portrays the lives of indigenous communities (“Adivasis”) across the Indian subcontinent. Her work is cherished by collectors both in India and abroad. Among her many awards, she received the A.N. Chakladar Award (1991), Satyen Banerjee Award (1992), Gogonendra Nath Tagore Award (1992), Best Artist’s Award at the W.B. Art Exhibition (1992), and an award from the Annual Exhibition of the Birla Academy of Art & Culture (2003).

Since graduating, Laha has actively participated in various exhibitions, group shows, and art workshops across India, with highlights including the Annual Exhibitions of the Birla Academy of Art & Culture (1992, 2003, 2007), Open Air Exhibitions by the Birla Academy (2001, 2003) and more. She also contributed to the “PAROMA” exhibitions held by Gallery La Mere (2008–2014) and EMAMI Annual Exhibitions (2014, 2015), among many other prestigious events.
