Pravin Utge, an artist based in Mumbai, draws inspiration from the rich Rajasthani tradition to create captivating artwork. His preferred subjects are women who embody abundance, much like Hindu goddesses like Lakshmi and Saraswati. A distinctive feature of his paintings is the calming effect achieved through the portrayal of women with half-opened, elongated eyes resembling delicate flower buds. Utge uses a gentle colour palette for the subjects’ skin and contrasts it with vibrant, bold colours for the background, adding depth and interest to his creations.
